Donor Feature: Dalton Straus

This issue of the Crater Foundation Newsletter takes a different approach for its feature article. Rather than focusing on an outstanding Crater graduate, we are honoring 92-year-old Dalton Straus, a legend in the Southern Oregon and state agriculture world who believes in giving of his time and his resources. Dalton has Jackson County pioneer ancestors on both his mother’s and father’s side. His great-grandfather, James McDonough, settled in Jackson County in 1852 and in 1854 filed a land claim in the Willow Springs area north of Jacksonville.
