Mea Frantz Neal

Class of 1990.  Mea earned 9 varsity letters in volleyball, basketball and track. She was All Conference in volleyball and basketball her senior year. She was state champion in the javelin also during her senior year.

Mea attended Willamette University where she graduated with a bachelor of science degree in Political Science. While at Willamette, Mea participated in volleyball where she was team captain in 1993 and still holds school records for most blocks and the best kill/attempt percent.

In basketball she was team captain during the 1993-94 season.

In track she was 4th in the NAIA Nationals in the javelin in 1991, 1st in the NAIA Nationals in 1992 and 8th in the NAIA Nationals in 1994. She was an NAIA Track All American in 1991, 1992 and 1994. She still holds the school record for women’s javelin. Mea was named Willamette University’s Athlete of the Year in 1994.

Mea states “I continue to work out and play indoor/beach volleyball at least three times a week.” She ran the Portland Marathon in 1997.
