Bryan Berryhill

Class of 1996

Bryan a 1996 graduate, was a three-sport letterman at Crater High School excelling in football, basketball and track. Bryan was a named an All-Conference football player his junior and senior years. While football was his first love, it was in track and field that he made his mark, for he was a five time state champion at the 4A track and field meets. This accomplishment included winning the 400 meter race three times and the 800 meter race two times, the only time in the history of the 4A meet that one athlete has won the 400 and 800 meter races back to back.Bryan Berryhill

Bryan moved on to Colorado State University where he set and holds numerous school records including the Indoor and outdoor 800 meters, the Mile and the 1500 meters. He was a NCAA national champion in the indoor 1-mile run and outdoor 1,500 meter run in 2001. He was 3rd in the 1999 NCAA Championships in the 1500 meter and was NCAA 1500 meter champion in 2001. He ran in the 2000 Olympic trials in the 800 meter and the 1500 meter. Bryan was a 10 times All-American while at Colorado State University.

Bryan turned to the pro running circuit after graduation and ran in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, the Goodwill games well as the United States. . He placed 2nd in the 1500 meters at the USA Track & Field championships in 2002 and was also 2nd at the 2002 USA Indoor Championships in the 1500 meters. He also place 2nd at the USA Track & Field Championships in the 1500 in 2004. He ran in the USA Track & Field Championships 4 different times and again ran in the Olympic Trials in 2004. He competed as a professional track athlete from 2001-2004 and 2005-07.

Today, 2016, Bryan is the head track and field/cross country coach at the University of Wyoming a position he has held for the past 4 years. Before moving to Wyoming, Bryan served as the head cross country and assistant track coach at Colorado State from 2005 – 2012

Bryan received his bachelor’s degree in forestry from CSU in 2001. He and his wife, Toni have three children, Libby, Eli and Lainey.
