Tony Overstake

Explore the journey of Tony Overstake, 1998 Crater High School Graduate, Athletic Hall of Fame inductee. Champion wrestler turned pastor and advocate.

A 1998 graduate of Crater High School, he was a four-year letterman in wrestling and cross country besides being an honor student. He was a three-time Southern Oregon Conference District Wrestling Champion and a 1998 State Champion. In addition, he was a three-time Oregon Freestyle/Greco state finalist and a member of the Crater 1998 State Championship Wrestling Team inducted into the Crater Athletic Hall of Fame in 2023. Upon graduation from Crater, Tony was awarded an athletic scholarship to wrestle at the University of Oregon. He had an outstanding wrestling career at Oregon and in 2002 was a 2002 Pac-10 Champion. In addition, he was an Espoir Freestyle All-American in 2000, a University Freestyle All-American in 2001 and, never neglecting his academics, he was a Pac 10 Scholar-Athlete.

Tony received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Oregon in 2003. A person of strong faith since high school, following graduation, Tony became the Chaplain for the University of Oregon Athletic Department and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Oregon Campus Director. He continues in those roles today.

Tony has been pastoring in the Eugene community for 21 years. He founded and remained an active Board Member of the Fly-Fishing Collaborative – an anti-human trafficking non-profit based in Oregon. Always willing to give back to his community and the world, he led two overseas Tsunami relief teams to Thailand in 2006, and he spends his free time coaching little league and the Creswell Mat Club. He and his wife Roslyn have two children, Tristan (8) and Kaelan (4).
