Amy Reinwand Hendricks

A 1986 Crater High graduate, Amy was a very active student at Crater, participating on the varsity volleyball and basketball teams, being a member of the National Honor Society and serving as Senior Class President. She also was selected as the Crater Homecoming Queen.

Amy attended the University of Oregon, earning a degree in broadcast journalism and began her career in 1990 with KTVZ-TV in Bend, Oregon. She then moved to KVAL-TV in Eugene, Oregon and in 1995 moved to KABB-TV in San Antonio, Texas where she became a highly respected reporter/anchor. In 1998 she moved to KTVX-TV in Salt Lake City, Utah and from there to KNXV-TV in Phoenix, Arizona. In 2005 after ten years away from Oregon, she moved to KGW-TV in Portland, Oregon. While in Portland for the past 11 years she was a news anchor for KOIN-TV and recently retired from her news anchor position with KPTV TV.

Amy has found time to do volunteer work in her many communities, including serving as Master of Ceremonies for the MDA and Easter Seals Telethons and the Boys and Girls Club fundraisers, Valley Catholic Schools, Kidspire.org, Susan G. Komen Race 4 The Cure, March of Dimes and Easter Seals.

Her awards include Anchor of two Emmy Award Winning Newscasts, Edward R. Murrow Award for Reporting, Utah Broadcasters Award and 2 Society of Professional Journalist Awards for Reporting.

Her Special Assignments included the NBA Finals, Chicago, 1998; NCAA Basketball Championship, San Antonio, 1998; Summer Olympics, Sydney Australia, 2000; Winter Olympics, Salt Lake City, 2002; Academy Awards 2003, 2004, 2005; Super Bowl, San Diego, 2003; NBA Western Conference Finals, Phoenix, 2005.

Amy is married to 1984 Crater graduate Damian Hendricks. They have two daughters, Elisabeth 7 and Reese 8.
