A 1976 Crater graduate, Anne remembers growing up in Central Point with her five siblings. “I had a wonderful, warm and beautiful mother and a charming, handsome and challenging father. Crater and Scenic was my sandbox for life! The camaraderie I enjoyed as a student, cheerleader and jazz band member at Scenic and the close friendships I experienced later at Crater as a member of the gymnastics team are unforgettable. My pals, Cathie Harder, Lynn Rice, Pam McKibben, Julie Knauss and coaches, Carol Kennedy and Rexi Nicholson helped create the core of my being. During those years, we had hilarious, sometimes crazy, and frequently intense, sometimes not-quite-legal adventures!”

Upon graduation from Crater Anne went on to the University of Oregon where she received a BA in French and Journalism and spent her junior year as an exchange student to France.

Later Ms. Gaddis was to earn an MBA at the University of Connecticut. She was a member of the U of O gymnastics team, wrote for the university newspaper and was a Homecoming princess.

Ann began her professional career as a columnist for the New York Post before moving on to corporate television at E.F. Hutton in New York City where she wrote and produced videos for financial products and wrote and produced financial news that aired nightly on the “Financial News Network”. Anne experienced a brief stint in Los Angeles working for Fox Broadcasting Company before returning to New York as a consultant for several New York companies, including IBM, Tiffany & Company, Newsweek and Pitney Bowes. During this second stay in New York, she married Hal Markus and had three children, Nicole, Justin and Jordan. After twelve years they left Manhattan and moved to a house with acreage in bucolic Connecticut. Anne then was to spend five years working for Person-to-Person, a Connecticut social services agency. Here she did public relations, marketing and communications work for low income individuals and families.

Currently she works at Cotiviti, a global analytics healthcare payment accuracy firm. She has been with this company for eight years managing public relations, marketing, social media, digital media, internal communications and event planning. The company recently sold to Verscend Technologies/Veritas Capital for 4.16 billion.

Anne and her husband are close to the entertainment industry and, as a result, have had some interesting experiences.  “I worked at the 1993 Emmy Awards and got to take a limo to the event with my husband and Shelia Kelley of ’L.A. Law’, ‘ER’ and ‘One Fine Day’. “ She has appeared on CBS Eye on America hosted by Dan Rather, but her best celebrity moment was “having Julia Roberts sit on the stoop outside my office on the Fox lot when I came back from lunch one day. She was writing a letter while taking a break from filming Sleeping with the Enemy.”
