A 1974 Crater High graduate, Larry earned seven varsity letters in football, wrestling and track. In 1973 he was named to the first team All-Conference football team and was named to the first team All-Conference and All State in track in 1972.
Larry received numerous Crater High athletic awards including: Most Improved Football Player in 1972-73, Most Improved Wrestler 1972-73, All Conference track 1972-73, Most Valuable Player in Football 1973-74, Outstanding Running Back 1973-74, Most Pins in wrestling 1973-74, Most Valuable Track and Field Athlete in 1973-74. He was a state finalist in the hurdles in 1974 and still holds the Crater High 110 hurdle record of 14.2, a record that has remained for the past 43 years.
Larry attended Western Oregon University where he was the leading rusher for the Wolves his freshman year. In 1976, Larry joined Medford Fire and Rescue where he has been a Firefighter, Engineer, and Captain. He retired as a Battalion Chief in 2011 after 35 years with Medford Fire and Rescue.
He is married to his wife, Sharon, and they have two children, David and Jeanifer.
