Crater High School

Crater High School originally opened in the fall of 1951 after the Central Point, Gold Hill and Sam’s Valley school districts consolidated. At that time Crater housed all district students in grades 9-12. In 1968, all 9th grade students were moved to Scenic, leaving grades 10-12 at Crater. In 1991, 9th grade students were moved back to Crater, again configuring the school with all students in grades 9-12.

There have been various additions and remodels over the years, some of which occurred in 1960, 1978 and 2003.
